USC holds Forum on Free Tuition Fee and SK Reform Law

Speakers Hon. Sarah Jane Elago and Hon. James Ceasar Ventura discussed two of the current news nowadays during the Students Forum on Free Tuition in State Universities and Colleges and Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law held at the JDA Hall last April 5, 2017.
Elago, a representative and Congressman from the Kabataan Partylist and the youngest woman legislator in the 17th congress, discussed about the specifications of the free tuition fee policy.
In addition, she also shared her thoughts and ideas on how the Congress is planning to institutionalize the said policy and she stressed that education is a right of every Filipino.
Meanwhile, Ventura, Commissioner-at-Large of the National Youth Commission and currently the President of the Sirib Ilokano Kabataan Association (SIKA), talked about the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law.
He also discussed the difference between the Sangguaniang Kabataan and Kalipunan ng Kabataan as well as the Old and New Sanggunian.
After which, an Open Forum was held wherein questions by the students were answered by the two speakers.
The forum was spearheaded by the DMMMSU University Student Council together with the National Youth Commission and Kabataan Partylist.
